Dalcroze Eurhythmics
Dalcroze Eurhythmics teaches musical understanding through movement. Physical activities and listening games are the medium for exploring rhythm, melody, harmony and expressive nuance. In the private piano lesson, students enjoy a range of kinesthetic experiences – bouncing balls to find the beat and meter of a piece, stepping and conducting the rhythm, or freely drawing the phrase – to make musical sense of the notes on the page. When taught in a class setting, students interact with each other and the music in movement games and improvisations, developing rhythmic unity between their eyes, ears, minds and bodies.
